TextMine Developer Overview

A developer-oriented overview of the TextMine platform and current product surfaces.

TextMine helps teams turn documents into validated, reusable business data. The developer surface is centered on Public API v3 and the hosted MCP server for agent clients.

What you can build

  • Import documents into Vault from local files or connected providers.
  • Search and retrieve Vault document data.
  • Read and update document metadata, tags, assignees, and processing state.
  • Generate reports and retrieve report results.
  • Build workflows that run on schedules, document events, email, intake forms, or manual triggers.
  • Run agents and connect agent output to workflows or records.
  • Publish validated documents from Vault to Legislate when they should become part of the team-document archive.

Current product model

Vault is the document intelligence surface. It handles upload, import, processing, extraction, review, search, reporting, and automation.

Legislate is the validated archive. Documents can be published from Vault to Legislate after review.

Workbench is the in-app orchestration surface for exploratory work, uploads, provider imports, and user-enabled MCP providers.

Workflows make repeatable work durable. Agents, playbooks, reports, integrations, Scribe templates, and records can all be part of workflow automation.

For API users

Use v3 for new work. v2 remains available as a legacy reference, but v3 is the default and includes current public API areas such as integrations, workflows, agents, reports, exports, metadata, and business records.
