Why TextMine exists and how the API supports reliable document intelligence.
TextMine exists to make critical document data usable, auditable, and actionable.
Most organisations have important knowledge trapped in contracts, policies, filings, emails, PDFs, provider folders, and manually maintained trackers. TextMine gives teams a way to ingest that material, validate the extracted data, and reuse it in workflows, reports, records, and generated documents.
Principles for developers
- Keep source documents traceable.
- Prefer validated metadata over one-off summaries when a process will repeat.
- Use Vault for active document processing and analysis.
- Use Legislate for validated documents that have been published from Vault.
- Use workflows when a process needs to be consistent.
- Use MCP and operation IDs to make agent behavior explicit and inspectable.
The API and MCP server are designed to make these workflows easier for developers, automation tools, and agent clients to maintain.
